Philip Lieberman, a George Hazard Crooker University Professor Emeritus at Brown University, died on July 12, 2022 at the age of 87. Dr. Lieberman was a world-renowned cognitive scientist and phonetician, whose research focused on the nature and evolution of the biological bases of human language and cognition.
